1952 MG TD
I'm helping my mother in law sell her 1952 MG TD. The car is in very good condition with 26,724 miles on the odometer. Asking US$16,000. Located near Port Jervis, NY in Sullivan county outside NYC. Interested? Call (703) 407-7389 or email the address chris at beefstew dot net.
The car was acquired from William Mariner in Bethesda, MD, back sometime in the year 2000 and was brought to upstate NY in an enclosed truck, where it has been kept garaged.
Since purchase, the car has been shipped to Manhattan (in a box truck) to have the carburetors rebuilt. The mechanic who did that work suggested replacing the gas tank and lines due to rust flakes inside the tank -- so that was done, as well.
The car is currently insured, registered, and inspected. Most recently, the car had its carburetors cleaned by Pocono Sportscar in Shohola, PA (http://www.poconosportscar.com/).
Included in the built-in toolbox is a jack, 5-6 wrenches, 2-3 specialty tools; everything is stamped "England" and is wrapped in oiled rags. There is one spare tire attached to the car. The car has a canvas top (it has minor sun fading), plus the original four side windows that clip on to enclose the driver.
In the glovebox is a MG Midget Series TD Operation Manual (3rd ed.; handwritten on it is "Motor XPAG-TD2-18582"), another book called "The Complete MG Workshop and Tuning Manual by W.E. Blower" with handwritten vehicle specifications (cylinders, stroke, motor number, etc.), and a pull-out chart labeled "1.5L Chassis Maintenance Chart".
Car number TD/18253. Engine number XPAG/TD2/18582.
A Heritage certificate is unavailable, since they are only offered for 1953-80 cars.
